Eccola in English:
"We inaugurate a new section on the blog of LaCuraDellAuto.it with the aim of making known to all fans of the characters, the stories and "behind the scenes" of the fantastic world of Detailing.
This first episode is dedicated to Marco D'Inca, Head of Research and Development RUPES SpA
We all are fans of the great success that the Italian company is getting all over the world with the revolutionary Big Foot. Well, Marco addition to being a close friend of LaCuraDellAuto.it is also one of the main actors of this revolution and see how he responded to questions posed on the forum by our users.
Question: There are plans to build a small electric random orbital polisher (like the lhr75) to be attached to lhr15 (or lhr21) during the bigfoot?
Answer: Well here I do not anticipate things that I have to say ...
What's new in testing are many, the BF 21:15 have created a working method in which we can certainly be room for new things.
Unfortunately, the testing takes time! The D Day of last May now seems a distant memory but in the end, it's not 'quite a year.
Will be back soon on this subject.
D. There is much talk about the latest generation of random orbital sanders, especially Bigfoot, as candidates for replacement of rotary polishers. Some detailers established very close to you have even claimed that "the rotary polisher is prehistory" (or something like that), you are in agreement with these statements and, if so, for what reasons?
R. Yes! share
The BF replaces the traditional cycle!
There is not yet the time to mature the same experience accumulated in years of work by people who have acquired a mastery incredible with the rotation method.
We must give them a way to become familiar with the BF method to get the maximum
It should also be remembered that we were the only ones to pay attention to the development of specific consumables, it is still huge room for improvement on the traditional while many people have already worked for years.
Many suppliers of consumables are working on an empirical basis counting on consolidated; develop consumables for the cycle BF requires technological resources of which only a few companies have so it takes time but I expect in the next few years a great increase in performance. I do not expect a large performance increase instead of rotary.
D. How many hours of study it took to make the monster BF that today is all the rage towards us Detailer? What would you improve to make it even absolute perfection?
R. Two years! more previous experience with the rotoeccentrica. What to improve? is not easy! The machine is well set, silent, stable and very little warmer.
We realized that the operators would like more flexibility, ie the interchangeability of pads and tampons without constraints. We're working on.
Best performance will certainly also on the evolution of the consumable.
D. Marco ... pretend not to be Marco d'Inca, but a layman who has known the detailing in this forum. The question is: what do you think of detailing in Italy?
R. I do not have to pretend! I really knew the detailing on this board! My professional experience is divided into two parts: before and after the D-Day D-Day!
Only later I had the opportunity to know the detailing in the rest of the world.
In Italy we have to work to create a good question.
Many would trust their car to a detailer but do not know that it exists; here with us there is a lot of communication closed circuit between operators and enthusiasts but lacks the communication to the outside, to potential users.
In the English-speaking world there is actually more prevalent, starting with car washes offering a more evolved helping to create a culture of car care (...) which can leads some to go higher up to the detailers.
Even I did not know this world despite having attended the body shop environment since childhood, I have discovered, however, not for my car, but for my profession.
No one ever told me "Look, there is the detailing!"
On this you have to think!
Technically, however nothing is missing, I would say that we are at the level of "detailers established very close to us"
D. What differences noted between the world body and that of Detailing. And what is missing in the one and the other to complete?
R. They are different trades.
Some refinishers (very few) also offer detailing but frankly I prefer that they remain different things.
The structural costs of a modern bodywork makes it impossible to execute a good detailing. The competitiveness of a modern body shop is measured on its ability to beat the time keeping a high quality standard.
The body shop is an entrepreneur who has to work his collaborators and the detailing is not meant to be delegated!
Throughout the forum, which I follow for some time now, everyone is always talking in the first person: "I tried this", "I had this problem." I have not seen posts from people who say "my employees have told me that ..."
Not always so, and 'shared the attitude of total criticism against the body shop (well, some of the time), the service car care was offered by them many years ago when it was still called detailing but today it no longer do if not impossible to costs.
D. Mark in front of you a professional detailer, and one that would like to open a new business. Give one tip one and the other.
R. We both recommend a Bigfoot!
D. How do you see the role of RUPES within the world of Detailing? What would you do to develop it? And, in your opinion, is there any chance to Raviola regrow hair?
R. RUPES is one of the most successful manufacturers of polishing since I exist but for a long time remained the edge detailing in the world.
Now Bigfoot has become a brand known around the world detailing giving us a responsibility that we have to deal with it properly.
We are moving to this, I realized that the initiative of a single company can not, and we are still working on it. And 'soon to talk about it in detail, but we will hear.
We must move to spread culture detailing, for the moment I'm trying to understand the American model and see how much is replicated here.
For hair of Raviola say instead that there are hopes even if we worked all together. I would try, however, repeated applications of Diamond for giving shine and vigor to what now appears dull and faded!
D. Not only Detailing ... What I like to do in Marco D'Inca at the end of the day?
R. Winter sports and graphic design are my passions (after detailing, of course!).
During the winter season I follow the agonistic activity of alpine skiing as a technical delegate of the Italian Winter Sports Federation and as the race director.
In addition, throughout the year I follow the organization of a youth team though for lack of time are now less present than I would like.
Expect our Antonio create lacuradeglisci.it to replicate the success of lacuradellauto.it!
The graphics instead 'pure fun but the time and' little, the comparison with the young and 'pitiless but ... I try to maintain a good level.
For the rest I can tell you that I will continue to be the "official correspondent" of LCDA for all fairs and events detailing the world in which I can participate. From now until the end of the year there are several events.
Finally, let me add a few words to express my gratitude and that of the staff RUPES for every interest, friendship and esteem manifested. The awareness of your presence makes me feel part of a community of passionate and alive all this with great joy.
A hug to everyone.
A hug to you, dear Mark, and thank you for everything you do ..."
Spunti molto interessanti quelli forniti da Marco, credo possano essere utili a tutti
